At Morrill Hall on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings, South Dakota, Sentry’s Electrical Division completed electrical infrastructure upgrades to support the installation of new emergency power systems serving the building. The project included electrical integration for two 400KW diesel standby generators designed to provide reliable backup power for critical building systems. Work was completed within an active campus facility and required careful coordination with existing electrical infrastructure to maintain continuous building operations.

Sentry’s South Dakota Service Division installed the generators, while Sentry’s Electrical Division completed the electrical wiring, feeder connections, and power distribution integration required to bring the standby power system online.

Standby generator installations like the Morrill Hall project require precise coordination between electrical infrastructure, power distribution systems, and backup power equipment. Sentry’s Electrical Division regularly performs generator electrical installations, standby power infrastructure upgrades, and emergency power integration for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities across the Midwest. These systems help ensure uninterrupted operations during power outages and are critical for facilities that rely on reliable electrical service.

The installation of standby generators required electrical integration with existing building systems including distribution panels, feeder infrastructure, and emergency power controls. The work involved intercepting existing feeders, installing new conductor runs, and connecting generator controls to ensure seamless transition to backup power during outages.
